Polo Mints - Snow Stamp
In December 2009 the entire UK was covered by a fresh, white blanket of snow. To take advantage of the fresh, white snow we produced a tactical ambient idea for a fresh, white mint. A “Polo snow stamp”. When stamped in thick, fresh snow it left near perfect replica of the iconic white mint.
Two thumbs up; it’s fun, affordable, and effective.

Here’s a neat way to use snow as a medium for advertising. It’s amazing what people think of!
Orbit Ice Mints - Fresh Breath
To demonstrate the breath-freshening effect of Orbit Ice Mints, BBDO positioned giant faces in front of snow cannons. This advertisement intrigued many people on the slopes and was a big success.
I don’t know about you, but I’m intrigued just looking at the photo. Plus, the photo gives me the illusion of having fresh breath which makes me want to buy a pack of Orbit Ice Mints to turn the illusion of having fresh breath into reality.
In a classic example of the medium being the message, this UK homeless charity placed handmade cardboard signs throughout the streets of London, to remind onlookers that the recent snowfall may be beautiful to see, but it’s a pain to sleep in. Sometimes low-tech works best.
